Chris, from A Deliberate Life, has kindly bestowed on me the Honest Scrap Blog Award. Thanks Chris!

Now I’m supposed to share 10 things about me that nobody knows. Mmm, that’s easier said than done! Let’s see what I can come up with.
1. I used to read encyclopedias for fun when I was a kid. I just loved learning new things. I still do actually, but I hate formal learning, which is why I’ve never completed a degree or diploma – I lose interest very quickly. I refer to myself as self-educated.
2. I’m very liberal, but believe that freedom is never free from responsibility.
3. When I was 12-13 I was the tallest person in my school. Ironically I married two short men.
4. I can’t draw, but I love doodling geometric patterns while in meetings or on the phone.
5. No matter how poor I was at times in my life (very!), I have never compromised on the quality of my toilet paper. The first time I visited the USA, I came back with a pack of Charmin’.
6. I don’t like crowds at all. You will never find me at fairs and expos. My preferred way of interacting is one-on-one, but I can still tolerate about four people. After that I check out. The exception is when I’m in a position of authority.
7. I’ve never broken a bone, but I have sprained both my ankles so badly that they needed to be in plaster.
8. I used to be fluent in French (about 20 years ago), but haven’t really spoken it much since then. I always surprise myself when I do have a chance to speak it (yesterday on the phone, for instance) and I get by.
9. I’ve somehow lost my ability to speak in public and really want to practice that again. I used to be a tour-guide (temp job many years ago) and I debated in school, so I know I can get back to stringing a sentence together without sounding tentative and saying “um” every two seconds.
10. I wish I could sing like Joan Baez. Unfortunately I sound more like Phoebe from Friends. This will not deter me from singing to my kids one day (until they ask me to stop).
Now I have to pick 10 people to pass it along to.
1. Kayla from Chubby-Stubby-Kay
2. Kat from Fit Mind Body Spirit
3. Shelley from Me, Myself and I
4. Cindy from A Sparkle a Day
6. Vickie from Baby Steps
8. Lee from Journey to Fitville
9. Doc Manette from Recalled to Life

Bonjour Hanlie! Je parle le francais aussi! J’ai etudie a l’universite, mais il y avait 15 ans que j’ai parlais beaucoup.
Okay, I had to think really hard just to write all that and I’m not sure any of it is even correct! It’s been a really long time since I spoke French to anyone – I was just thinking this morning that I should really brush up on my French in case I ever need to use it!
