Thanks for the video Hanlie.
I yet to try one. Perhaps I should consider it.

Thanks for sharing this awesome information. I’ll have to check out that book and see if my trainer will allow me to add this into my plan. You are so awesome there and your posts are the best.

Thanks! I’ve tried green smoothies and would like to do more. Unfortunately, the only one I’ve been able to enjoy is spinach banana and berries. i tried some with kale and didn’t like it so much. Do you have a few particular recipes that would be good for a newbie to develop a palate for it? I have the book referenced in the video. I’m wondering if I tried to make a savory one too soon and should have stuck to the fruit ones a bit longer.

@teresa: I’ve never tried kale – we don’t get it here. I most often use Swiss chard or spinach, and occasionally romaine, arugula, watercress, cilantro, parsley, basil, celery, etc. I actually add quite a lot of fruit and I’m not afraid to experiment. My latest craze is adding ginger, but I’ve used cinnamon in the past. I have yet to make one that was totally awful, although I’ve had to rescue one or two in the past, usually by adding more banana!

Banana is indeed the magic ingredient for me in fixing a weirded out smoothie.

I’ve been favoring spinach, lime, and mint lately in my smoothies lately, don’t know why. I think because they all taste “green.”

Miz, who has her child snarfing the shrek shakes and yet wonders when shrek is “over” here what will happen?

Thanks for the link. These smoothies can be dangerous. Some of them have over 500 calories. But this looks like a good one. Will check it out!

I have not tried one either – but I have been noticing how often smoothies are in TV shows and movies. Maybe they are replacing cigarettes as the new social thing.
