What’s up!
Craig normally gets up before I do and feeds the cats. On days when he sleeps in a little, they literally wait for him to wake up!

I went to visit my friend Charlotte on Friday and came home with three large bags full of clothes! Most of them don’t fit yet, but by next summer I will have some gorgeous boutique clothes to wear! She’s lost about 30 kg (66 pounds) since November and is looking fabulous! She’s got a another 12 kg (26 pounds) to go to goal. I am so proud of her.
My pedometer has died. Probably not from exertion. Nevertheless, it’s snuffed it and taken my week’s total - pitiful though it may be -with it. I’ll see about getting another one… have to wheedle the money out of Craig!
Despite my emphatic declarations last week, I haven’t really got off my ass yet. Oh, I’m eating well for the most*, and the scale is creeping down, but I need to get moving. After tomorrow morning’s visa interview I’m heading to the Traffic Department to renew my driver’s license. Then all my big tasks will be out of the way, and I will be able to throw myself into a fitness program! So I keep telling myself. I will keep you updated.
I’m on the verge of a major emotional release. I’m not depressed, but I am emotional and I keep feeling as if “something” big is going to happen. This is a good thing. I just wish I could do something to get things moving. You know, kind of like an emotional enema.
Do you picture vegans as pale, slender-but-weak people? Well, you’re wrong. Katrina Rainoshek took these fun muscle pictures a few days ago. She’s a raw vegan and two-thirds into a Juice Feast! You can get ripped on plant food! Even juice!
I cried (I told you I was emotional!) when I read PastaQueen’s account of her first half-marathon, which took place this past Saturday. What an inspiration! If you don’t know her blog Half of Me, you should definitely visit. She’s lost half her bodyweight and her book, Half-Assed, has just recently been released. She’s a journalist by profession and as such, writes beautifully and humorously.
One of my favorite new blogs is Evolving Wellness. Evita is passionate about health and realizes that everything we come into contact with affect us in some way. She frequently looks at cleaning and personal care products and informs her readers in detail why these products are safe or not. Very informative and well-written. You should definitely check out her site.
The internet is awashed with wonderful ideas. Another new blog I like is Thank a Stranger, where you can contribute a story via e-mail, thanking a stranger for a kindness. I love the stories!
I’d be surprised if you didn’t know about PostSecret, but just in case you have been blogging in a vacuum, let me tell you about it. It’s an art project where people write their secrets on home-made postcards and send them to PostSecret. Every Sunday he does a blogpost with a selection of the week’s postcards. It’s fascinating and compulsive.
Speaking of postcards… Has anyone received their Postcard-Swap postcard in the mail yet? Remember to let us know… I might put a Mr Linky up so that you can post your picture and link from here…
And another thing! Has anyone seen my Aunt Flo? I’ve been waiting patiently for her since Thursday. Isn’t it ironic that the month in which I decide to start calling her my Monthly Celebration of Womanhood (thanks Pippa!), she doesn’t bother to show up for the celebration? This morning I checked whether she has a good excuse for her tardiness (by peeing on a stick), but alas, no. Should you run into her, please tell her I love and miss her!
* If you overlook the Indian dinner on Thursday night, where I ate too much rich, cooked food and the numerous cups of “make-it-strong” coffee I had on Friday when I visited Charlotte. When I was driving home from the visit I thought I was going to die! My heart was pounding and my ears were ringing. I felt sick most of the day Saturday. Remember the story of the frog in the boiling water? If you put a frog in a pot of boiling water, it will jump out immediately, but if you put it in cold water and slowly increase the temperature, it will happily boil to death. Don’t kid yourself about coffee. Just because you’re “used to” it, doesn’t mean that it doesn’t cause havoc in your body!

Hey, I have an Aunt Flo too and mine is missing too! What the heck? Could you please stop trying to be just like me? Or maybe I have to stop being just like you. We just keep doing everything together. I can’t even remember when I had it last…wait, let me see if I can find it…Oh, I don’t know, beginning of April sometime I think it’s been 6 weeks. Wow! It should be here but I don’t feel like it’s coming. Weird.
Love you!

Oh I know that pre release feeling of restlessness, that calm before a storm. And you’re right, it’s not necessarily a bad thing.
Cute picture of the hubby with the cats. Aren’t they just the most resourcefull creatures? They always find a way to make their needs know.

Oh, look at those blue eyes.
Just a comment on that special time in a woman’s life. I’m just finishing up and I usually feel yucky for a day or so but, I am glad I still get it. I’m as regular as clockwork and am never surprised by it. My friend’s think I’m insane but I will definitely miss it when the time comes (ugh, menopause!)
