I’m filching from Nutmeg this week, who in turn filched this from elsewhere…

The rules are simple: Hit the shuffle on your iPod (or in my case my MP3’s random selection), then answer each question by hitting next. No cheating!

Q: What does next year have in store for you?
A: Home - Daughtry

Q: What does your love life look like next year?
A: Diamonds on the soles of my shoes - Paul Simon

Q: What do you say when life gets hard?
A: I finally found someone - Barbra Streisand & Bryan Adams

Q: Song that reminds you of good times?
A: Only the good die young - Billy Joel

Q: What do you think when you get up in the morning?
A: Angels - Robbie Williams

Q: What song will you dance to at your wedding (or silver wedding anniversary?)
A: Go the distance - Michael Bolton (I kid you not!)

Q: Song that reminds you of your first kiss?
A: Holding out for a hero - Bonnie Tyler (If only I had…)

Q: Your favourite saying?
A: I Love This Bar - Toby Keith (I laughed so hard I woke the cat!)

Q: Favourite place?
A: Fire Lake - Bob Seger

Q: Most missed memory?
A: The Cover of the Rolling Stone - Dr Hook

Q: What song describes your best friend?
A: This Old Guitar - John Denver (It kinda fits…)

Q: What song decribes your ex?
A: What Are You Going To Do - Echo and the Bunnymen

Q: Where would you go on an important date?
A: Love is Alive - Anastacia

Q: Drug of choice?
A: Run, Baby Run - Sheryl Crow (I must really start running!)

Q: What song describes yourself?
A: I’ve had the time of my life - Jennifer Warnes and Bill Medley

Q: What is the thing you like doing most?
A: Born in the USA - Bruce Springsteen

Q: The song that best describes the President?
A: Never Again - Kelly Clarkson (Amen to that!)

Q: Where will you be in 10 years?
A: Spirit in the Sky - Gareth Gates (Crikey, I hope not!)

Q: Your love life right now?
A: It’s Five O’ Clock Somewhere - Alan Jackson

Q: What is your state of mind like at the moment?
A: The needle and the damage done - Neil Young (It’s not that bad, I promise!)

Q: How will you die?
A: Blaze of Glory - Bon Jovi (I’m not making this up!)

That was fun! I only skipped the Afrikaans songs and duplicate artists.

Not enough hours in the day!

Seriously! I am running around like a blue-arsed fly! At least I’m getting things done… but new things keep popping up all the time.

So, I’m well! I’m eating healthy fruits and salads. I wanted to make a smoothie yesterday, but the blender blew up in spectacular fashion and almost burned the house down. So no smoothies for me in the forseeable future. Of course I’m still having juice!

Unfortunately we’ve had to re-home one of our cats today. Bonnie was not doing well with us and we’ve had to find her a home where she can be the only “child”. I cried buckets!

I’ve written out my postcards and will post them tomorrow (another walk to the shops!). My pedometer fell off in the grocery store yesterday, sending the battery flying and thereby zeroing my steps for the week… No matter! I was telling Craig that the benefit of having one is that you definitely make an effort to walk more by parking further away, etc. I’m just terrified that it will fall into the toilet!

We seem to have most of our things ready for our visa appointment. We’ll see our attorney and our accountant on Tuesday for the balance of the stuff (I told you it was a mission!). And I found the perfect carry-on bag today for a very reasonable price. Did I mention that I was excited???

My google reader still has 150 items, so I’ll leave you with a little something to giggle about while I dig in…

Accept, Award, Announce, Apologize

Good ChatThe gorgeous and divine Lora has awarded me the Good Chat Blog Award! Thank you Lora! I am honored and very pleased! And I love you to bits!

I have decided to award this to the people taking part in my postcard swap. They are Rupa, Felicia, Pamela, Rose, Manuela, Chanda, Lora, Nutmeg, Simone, Kristie, Lisa, Sara, Pippa, DaDivaStreet, Sue, Pattie, Lynn, Erin and Emil.

That’s quite a list! Thank you all for taking part. I will pair you up today and send you all emails with your partners’ e-mail addresses tonight. Remember, you need to buy a postcard of your area, write a blessing or inspirational quote on the back and send it to the person.

Okay, now for the big surprise! We are going on a trip to the USA in June! I’ve been wanting to visit my cousin in Seattle again for ages, but my husband never really wanted to bite, saying it’s too far, too expensive, yada-yada. Well, I’ve finally managed to convince him! It helps that Delta is starting a new service from Cape Town in June, at a special price for the month of June, which willl save us almost $1000. There is so much to organize (the visa process is quite a mission and I have to get everything together for our appointment on 6 May) and of course I would dearly like to lose some more weight before then, even if only to make the 24 hours (each way) spent in the air more comfortable. Needless to say, I’m almost hyperventilating with excitement! I last visited my relatives in 2003 and since then two new babies have been added to the family. When I was there last they spoiled me rotten!

So, with organizing everything and getting active again, I have been neglecting my blogreading (not to mention my website!). My google reader has 150 entries in it and I’m hoping to dig into it today, but I also have the following on the agenda:

- walk to the salon to get a wax (I have to get back in the pool soon)
- walk to the grocery shop (in a different direction) to get some fruit and salad items
- make 400 discount vouchers for Craig’s business
- allocate the partners and send out the e-mails for the postcard swap
- hopefully write another blog entry about my Post Juice Feast lifestyle

So, if I don’t get to your blog today, I apologise, but I promise I won’t just hit delete and start from scratch! I’m far too quizzy to miss anything!

Thank you all for your comments regarding my hair. I really like Kellie Pickler’s bob and I think it would be perfect for me, provided of course I can maintain it - I’m not so adept with a brush and hairdryer… In fact, I’d have to get a hairdryer… But yeah, I think it’s time to grow my hair a bit longer. I’ve been wearing it short for most of my adult life and I feel like doing something different. And with my new healthier diet (and the MSM) it’s growing like the clappers! But I’ll definitely have it nicely styled before we go to America! And of course I will have to buy some summer clothes over there… Apart from the fact that a lot of my summer clothes are very tired and worn, I’ve got a feeling they’ll also be too big for me!

Did I mention that I’m beside myself with excitement? We leave in six weeks’ time!

Post Juice Feast Pics

Thank you for the amazing comments and compliments you’ve been showering on me! I feel so happy and blessed. It’s all good and healthy here in my world in the moment. I am light and unencumbered.

I was fooling around with the webcam and took some pictures. Positioning the camera was quite tricky initially… that is a look of concentration, not constipation!

At last, a smile!

Craig was lying on the bed reading, but decided to get in on the act and the result is this lovely picture!

Hanlie & Craig - pjf

I’m sorry I’ve been so scarce (on your blogs and mine!), but there are exciting things happening over here and I’m busy, busy, busy. I’ll let the cat out of the bag tomorrow…

I’ve walked about 5000 steps so far today and ended the day yesterday on just under 6000. A slowish start, but it all adds up!

Looking back at those pictures, I have a big favor to ask you guys… I need advice! What should I do with my hair? Grow it? Cut it? Blow dry it? It just looks a bit sad and flat like that, don’t you think? I need a hair intervention!
