Accept, Award, Announce, Apologize

Good ChatThe gorgeous and divine Lora has awarded me the Good Chat Blog Award! Thank you Lora! I am honored and very pleased! And I love you to bits!

I have decided to award this to the people taking part in my postcard swap. They are Rupa, Felicia, Pamela, Rose, Manuela, Chanda, Lora, Nutmeg, Simone, Kristie, Lisa, Sara, Pippa, DaDivaStreet, Sue, Pattie, Lynn, Erin and Emil.

That’s quite a list! Thank you all for taking part. I will pair you up today and send you all emails with your partners’ e-mail addresses tonight. Remember, you need to buy a postcard of your area, write a blessing or inspirational quote on the back and send it to the person.

Okay, now for the big surprise! We are going on a trip to the USA in June! I’ve been wanting to visit my cousin in Seattle again for ages, but my husband never really wanted to bite, saying it’s too far, too expensive, yada-yada. Well, I’ve finally managed to convince him! It helps that Delta is starting a new service from Cape Town in June, at a special price for the month of June, which willl save us almost $1000. There is so much to organize (the visa process is quite a mission and I have to get everything together for our appointment on 6 May) and of course I would dearly like to lose some more weight before then, even if only to make the 24 hours (each way) spent in the air more comfortable. Needless to say, I’m almost hyperventilating with excitement! I last visited my relatives in 2003 and since then two new babies have been added to the family. When I was there last they spoiled me rotten!

So, with organizing everything and getting active again, I have been neglecting my blogreading (not to mention my website!). My google reader has 150 entries in it and I’m hoping to dig into it today, but I also have the following on the agenda:

- walk to the salon to get a wax (I have to get back in the pool soon)
- walk to the grocery shop (in a different direction) to get some fruit and salad items
- make 400 discount vouchers for Craig’s business
- allocate the partners and send out the e-mails for the postcard swap
- hopefully write another blog entry about my Post Juice Feast lifestyle

So, if I don’t get to your blog today, I apologise, but I promise I won’t just hit delete and start from scratch! I’m far too quizzy to miss anything!

Thank you all for your comments regarding my hair. I really like Kellie Pickler’s bob and I think it would be perfect for me, provided of course I can maintain it - I’m not so adept with a brush and hairdryer… In fact, I’d have to get a hairdryer… But yeah, I think it’s time to grow my hair a bit longer. I’ve been wearing it short for most of my adult life and I feel like doing something different. And with my new healthier diet (and the MSM) it’s growing like the clappers! But I’ll definitely have it nicely styled before we go to America! And of course I will have to buy some summer clothes over there… Apart from the fact that a lot of my summer clothes are very tired and worn, I’ve got a feeling they’ll also be too big for me!

Did I mention that I’m beside myself with excitement? We leave in six weeks’ time!

I’ve been looking forward to this post card swap, and I agree with the hair cut short. I posted mine a couple of days ago and I don’t blowdry or curl my hair at all, but I’m definatly a wash and wear kind of girl. Have a great day and thanks for the award!

Oh, how exciting! A trip to the US! How long will you be in the states? I can’t imagine what all needs to be done to get ready for a trip that far away from home. Whew! I get tired just thinking about it.

Thanks so much for the award and the linky love, I can’t wait to get my postcard partner. Im such a geek, Ive already picked out a favorite quote to use.

The new hair cut option is a great idea. I know what you mean about hairdryer challanged. I have a hair straightener, and everytime I use it I burn the pooh out of the side of my face. Charming!

Looking forward to more posts, but don’t overtax yourself, take some time if you need. We will all be here when you’re ready to write.

  5. Pamela Says:

Woo, hoo a trip, a hair style and an award! Plenty to get excited about.

I am also toying with the idea of a new hairstyle. I have had mine long for a while now. Everytime I got to the hair dresser it gets a bit shorter but not enough for anyone to really notice. There is a girl in the latest Nokia Ad and I LOVE her hairstyle but can’t find a photo of it. I also don’t know how to work a hairdryer though and I think that one might take a bit of work. At least my hairdresser understand me and if I bring an idea he usually says “Yes, it is very nice but you will have to buy a hairdryer AND use it!”

  6. DaDivaStreet Says:

Hi Hanlie - I’m not surprised that you are excited. Wow - I am envious. I absolutely love the States. Go girl and enjoy. You look wonderful but I must say that I am very pleased you have started eating again. I didn’t want to say anything before but I was actually quite worried about you only juice feasting for so long. It was all worth it but get make to eating correctly. I know that you will do it!!!!

Good luck with all the running around for visas etc. It really is a mission, but most definately worth it. Take care.
