A lazy sunny afternoon

Posted on Apr 09, 2008 under Family and Friends |

I visit a few photo blogs every day and am always on the lookout for tips. This is also a new interest for me - for the first 38 years of my life I couldn’t care less whether I even owned a camera or not. But when I saw the fabulous pictures people like Jenty and Corey take of their kids, I knew I had to develop some skills. Fortunately Craig has a camera and although it’s not great, it’s perfect for me to practice the basics with. As I don’t have kids, my cats have become my subjects of choice.

So here are some pics I took Monday afternoon:

Lavis and Bonnie found a spot of sun next to the Jacuzzi. It’s rare to see the two of them together (Bonnie being extremely shy and reticient), so I grabbed the camera.

Predictably, Bonnie disappeared immediately after the picture was taken.  Then Lavis spots Pepper approaching…

Pepper jumps into a planter and starts posing for the camera. Not a shy hair on her little body!

The added incentive of having something to play with helps, of course!

Lavis decides to investigate… her beautiful shiny coat comes from drinking Barleylife daily!

Pepper rebuffs her and starts chewing on the palm (which Craig calls our MVP - Most Valuable Plant - because it was so expensive).

Then she spots a bird, and Mommy and the camera are forgotten…

Enough cuteness for one day!

Reminds me of my darling Ricky. I miss him. He lives with his foster mum as I call her (D’s mother) since D is allergic to cat hair.

Lovely! You did a wonderful job, far better than I could. We’ve recently chosen a sweet calico kitten of our own to bring home in a few weeks when she can leave her mother. I can’t wait!

Oh arent they pretty!!! I just love seeing photos!! Thanks so much for sharing them! I hear you on the camera. We didnt have one till we had Joshua. Sad when I think about how much we missed in photos of our life before him. Looking back at his family photos he will think we all started when we had him lol as there is not much from the 8 years before him. Now we have 1000’s of photos. Thank goodness for digital!

    So cute.

I just can’t get Miss Molly to keep a collar on. They last for about a week and then they just seem to disapear. I am not sure what she does with them!

Well done on the weight, although I know that is not your primary focus - so well done on the healthy lifestyle improvements!

Awesome photos! They all have such unique markings, I think Lavis is my favorite, the colors are just so intense but I love the markings around Peppers nose…maybe Pepper is my favorite…but then again Bonnie has such a sweet face…she might be my favorite :-)
