Challenge of Love

Michelle did this yesterday and I just knew I had to do it too!

Often we are so busy - there’s so much to do, to accomplish, to achieve - that we overlook our own self. This card is inviting you to take some time to honor your self. Often we are quick to forgive others, quick to see their talents and their beauty, but much harder on ourselves.

Take a moment to sit quietly in gratitude for all that you are. Make a list of all the qualities, talents, moments of giving, caring, kindness, beauty, brilliance, creativity that your own self has given you. Let the list overflow. Share three items on the list on your blog.

Then make a fresh page of praise, expressing your gratitude for being yourself. When was the last time you praised yourself or acknowledged your beauty? It’s time to be reckless: lavish yourself in self-love. Share three items from your list on your blog.

Then find a gift, something significant, just for you. It can be a flower, a piece of music, something meaningful that says, “I honor you, I cherish you, I’m grateful.” It’s time to honor your own self. You deserve.

My Qualities and Gifts:

1.  I have striking blue eyes and get complimented on them often.  They’re a precious gift from my mother.

2.  I am a good and generous friend.  I don’t have many friends, but I love and appreciate the ones I have and treasure our friendship beyond measure.

3.  I learn new skills quickly and easily. This makes learning fun for me, and I am always adding new skills to my bag of tricks.

Praise and Honouring:

1.  I honour my courage.  I am always willing to face new challenges.  I have overcome my fears and strive to live my life to the fullest.  I am willing to take responsibility for every aspect of my life and move forward on this incredible journey.

2.  I honour my commitment to healing my body, mind and spirit.  It’s not always easy, and there are often setbacks, but I know that I can do this.  So I will.

3.   I honour my longing for a child.  I will be a mother.

My reward:

I first heard this song with my friend Lizana. It’s become one of my absolute favourite songs and I would like to share it with you. By listening to it I also feel connected to my friend…

Oh Hanlie, it’s beautiful. I have to tell you that as I was reading it I got this surge of energy that I sometimes get when I am doing a Journey with someone and I am “connected” with them. It is the coolest feeling. I could feel your love all the way from South Africa!

I absolutely love this song and searched for it on playlist but didn’t find it. I will have to load it into my player now. Thank you for such a beautiful gift!Thank you for BEING a beautiful gift!

    Much love!

What a powerful post! I could sense that you’ve given a lot of thought to the good things about you and the things you honor. Your writing is beautiful.

I tunred up the volume on my computer, closed my eyes, and floated away with that song! It’s great and reminded me how much I love Van Morrison. Thanks for posting it.

And thanks for sharing your heart with us.
