Juicy News - Day 34

What I consumed today:

  • 250 ml warm water, lemon  juice, cayenne pepper
  • 500 ml Barleylife
  • 500 ml Herbal Fiberblend
  • 1 liter beetroot, cucumber, carrot, celery
  • 2 liters orange, butternut, pear, cilantro
  • about 4 liters of water
  • MSM
  • Flaxseed Oil

Weight

  • Starting weight  - 157 kg.
  • Weight on Tuesday 4 Mar - 143.7 kg
  • Total loss - 13.3 kg

Exercise:  Does climbing the walls count?  I am very upset about my missed workouts.  Every previous time when I started an exercise program and it got interrupted, it took me months to get my sorry self back to gym.  I don’t want that to happen, but I don’t want to go back prematurely either.  I know I’m not ready.  Hopefully Monday.  In the meantime I’m seeing my body get soft and I’m not liking it!

Energy levels:  Not quite there yet.

Positive Changes:

  • My skin is soft and smooth all over.
  • I am no longer retaining water
  • My hair and body stay clean longer
  • My face is no longer oily.
  • My latest pimple outbreak is healing nicely.

Detox symptoms

  • My tongue is only slightly coated now
  • The skin on my hands has broken out in little blisters again.
  • I’m still have flu symptoms (including fever) and an irritating cough.
  • The lymph nodes in my left armpit are almost back to normal.

Food cravings:  None.

Self Care

  • Body brushing
  • Contrast showers
  • Inspirational reading

Emotions:   Not so happy today.  I’m upset about a situation with a friend and I’m extremely frustrated with my secret project.  It’s just so much harder than I thought it would be.  I really am learning as I go along and there’s a lot of trial and error.  There are also hidden costs that I haven’t budgeted for.  So I’m a bit tearful and sorry for myself.

Thoughts on the Day:

  •  Fellow Juice Feaster, Jessica, gave some excellent juice feasting advice the other day when she said:  “If you feel like crap, drink green juice.  If you’re feeling crappy about drinking green juice, drink green juice.”  Well said, Jessica!
  • Angela Stokes, the raw food and juice feasting authority, posted a very interesting link today about whole food signatures.  It makes a lot of sense to me!
  • It was 35°C (96°F) here today.  Not fun when you’re suffering from the flu!  Especially if you had to go to the grocery store.

About The Picture

  • A few miles south of the city of Cape Town, near Cape Point, lies the coastal village of Simon’s Town, which is renowned, among other things, for its penguin colony at Boulders Beach.   They are a joy to watch!

Gosh, I hope you recover soon. I think you are being smart by not over working your body right now while you are still having flu symptoms.

I think I might try your lemon/cayenne pepper drink tomorrow morning. I’ll let you know how it goes.

Ooh, I’m sorry you’ve had a lousy day! I hope you feel better soon.

One thing that helped me when I had the flu and couldn’t exercise was…stretching. Lots and lots of langorous stretches. It helped me feel like I was doing *something* for myself, even though I couldn’t, you know, *do* anything for myself. :)

I have just started the juice feast, though I’m doing a somewhat modified version. And I have just started blogging for the 1st time.
I love your blog. The content and way it’s laid out is great. Where do you get those incredible picture?
Well I just wanted to stop by and say high, and good luck on your cleanse. Preserving seldom fails.

    Regards

Oh Miss Hanlie! I hope things go more smoothly for you soon. You are so inspirational. And when you’re able to work out again, your body will bounce back, I just know it.

Just don’t get tired of watching them. Great photo.

    Disruptions are such a bummer.

You are doing well keeping to the juice fast. Hang onto the positives.

Good luck with your secret project. I can understand the frustrations.

Oh dear! Im so sorry you are still feeling the effects of the flu. And of course feeling like crap colors everything else you do, so that every small hill or set back seems to be ginormous. Hang in there, things will get better as you get stronger.

At the risk of sounding like your mother, have you gone to see a Dr? :)

I get out of the good habits fast too, but maybe if you write it on your calendar it will help - like for a week or two from now, when you are all better. So it is a real appointment that you have. I try and write down everything (well, also because I forget if I don’t!)

Hope you feel all better very soon!

Here is the rule of thumb that I use when I’m sick :

Fever: Dont work out, your body is busy healing itself.

Head Cold: Yes, you feel miserable, but you can still work out!

Chest Cold: No… your lungs are having enough problems getting oxygen… you dont want to add stress to them.

I hope you start feeling better again soon. I am so happy to see that you have been this succesful … keep it up!!!

Awww… I’m sorry you’ve been feeling blue about things! Hang in there. Things will get better! You’ll be feeling back to normal before you know it… and you’ll soon feel up to exercising. Just take care of yourself for now and get lots of rest. I’ll be thinking of you and sending best wishes your way! :)
