-
Starting weight - 157 kg.
-
Weight on Tuesday 26 Feb - 145.5 kg
-
Total loss - 11.5 kg
Exercise:
-
I’m not ready to exercise yet. Everybody I speak to knew someone who died from exercising too soon after having flu! It just doesn’t seem worth it…
Energy levels: I slept until 09h30 and had another nap this afternoon. We did go to the Waterfront for about an hour to get some ready made juices and produce.
Positive Changes:
-
My skin is soft and smooth all over.
- I am no longer retaining water
- My hair and body stay clean longer
-
The skin condition on my hands is healing again.
-
My face is no longer oily.
-
My latest pimple outbreak is healing nicely.
Detox symptoms:
-
My tongue is only slightly coated now
-
Frequent urination.
-
I’m still fluey, and as predicted, my chest is now getting in on the act.
-
The lymph nodes in my left armpit are still swollen and very painful.
-
I’m always cold (even though it’s summer!)
Food cravings: Crayfish (the juice bar was next to the Cape Town Fish Market)
Self Care:
-
An inspirational video.
-
A long sleep this afternoon.
-
Body brushing
-
Contrast showers
Emotions: Great! I’m feeling blessed. Everywhere I turn, I find more information that will help me in realizing my dreams of the lifestyle we want to have. I am so excited! I have also been feeling very loving towards Craig today, which is of course not hard. He’s such a honey and so supportive.
Thoughts on the Day:
-
A family member, who knows that I’m Juice Feasting, asked me today upon hearing that I have the flu: “What are you taking?” I nearly dropped the phone! What part of “I am busy with a detox!” don’t you understand? When detoxing you don’t take any medication, unless you’re about to die! That includes painkillers, nasal sprays, topical ointments, vitamins, etc. Fevers, mucous, diarrhea, headaches and the like are all ways in which the body gets rid of toxins. The best thing to do is drink something really alkalizing, like Barleylife, or celery juice and lots of water.
-
There are certain supplements, classed as superfoods, which we are allowed, even encouraged to drink during a Juice Feast. I’m quite happy with my Barleylife (which contains kelp), Herbal Fibreblend, MSM and flax oil, and my Para 90 (for the pests) has arrived, but I did hope that I would be able to find Chanca Piedra (Breakstone Tea), which is very effective in breaking down liver stones, kidney stones and gallstones. Unfortunately, the very knowledgable lady at the health store had never heard about it, so I’m presuming it’s not available locally. I see a liver cleanse in my future… I’ll tell you about the previous time I attempted a liver cleanse, and why one might consider a liver cleanse, tomorrow.
-
I didn’t make juices today… I brought a lot home from the juice bar and I had a lot of Barleylife. Every girl deserves a day off kitchen duty!
About The Picture:
-
On the eastern face of Table Mountain lies the world famous Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, where one can enjoy the incredibly rich and diverse indigenous plant life.
-
Whenever Bryan Adams visits Cape Town, he does shows at Kirstenbosch. It’s magical to sit under the stars on a grassy slope with a picnic basket and listen to Bryan Adams. You can normally count on a spectacular sunset too!

I hope that you are feeling better soon. I know that is awful to be sick. I am enjoying the pictures you have put in of South Africa. It is a place that I would love to visit someday. Our old neighbors were from South Africa but they moved to South Carolina last year in search of warmer weather.

1) Your photographs always inspire me.
2) DH has an appointment with the surgeon tomorrow to discusss options for gall bladder removal. He’s SUCH an avid golfer, the prospect of having unexpected urges that require a restroom terrify him. We’ve been reading up on cleanses, so I’ll look forward to your post tomorrow.

Hope you’re feeling much better.

Another beautiful photo! Hope you get some rest and get fully recovered before exercising again. My daughter and hubby are now sick with fever, chills, etc so I hope I don’t get it!

If you like using detox foot pads, then you might want to try the ORIGINAL manufactured in Japan — NOT CHINA.

Wow, Hanlie, the photos you find are truly, truly stunning!
If there is one thing I wish it is that I can get through the detox without pain killers. Ever since the GREEN juice I had on Friday I have been hit by a major migraine. It is definitely a goal for me to finally be able to handle the headaches without throwing any chemicals into my body … but whaddayado? I’ve got to function in the office. How cool would it be one day to be able to say: “I’m taking time off because my body needs it” without the boss going into cardiac arrest!
It seems that right now I just take it one step at a time. Will try more EFT during the day when I slip away to the ladies’ and see what comes of it.
You are my hero for riding out this flu so healthily! Hope you get your mojo back soon.
(: Pippa
