Juicy News - Day 25
Posted on Feb 25, 2008 under Juice Feasting |
What I consumed today:
- 250 ml warm water, lemon juice, cayenne pepper
- 500 ml Barleylife
- 250 ml Herbal Fiberblend
- 1 liter apple, orange, peach, cucumber, mint
- 500 ml beetroot and carrot
- 2 liters spinach, red bell pepper, apple, spring onion, garlic, celery, tomato, butternut
- MSM
- Flaxseed Oil
Weight: Starting weight 157 kg. My weight this morning was 145.8, which means my total loss is 11.2 kg.
Exercise:
- One hour aqua aerobics.
- One hour Pilates
Energy levels: I really lacked energy this morning and struggled through my aqua class. I attribute it to the lack of juice and the fact that we were so active yesterday (my official rest day).
Positive Changes:
-
My skin is soft and smooth all over.
- I am no longer retaining water and can actually get shoes on!
-
I snore less.
-
My hair and body stay clean longer.
-
My face is no longer oily.
Detox symptoms:
-
My tongue is still only slightly coated now
-
My skin has broken out in pimples.
-
I feel very bloated and full at the moment and I’ve lost the “glow”.
-
I am releasing a lot of mucous through my bowel.
-
The skin condition on my hands is flaring up again.
Food cravings: None
Self Care:
-
Inspirational video
-
Sauna
- Cold shower. It was going to be an alternate hot and cold shower, but I showered at gym between my two classes and for some unknown reason there was no hot water.
Emotions: I think I’m getting somewhere…
Thoughts on the Day:
-
Sorry that I didn’t update Day 24, but we had such a tiring day that I went to bed quite early. We went shooting on the farm where my sister and her husband live and ended up visiting with them and with my parents on a nearby farm. I didn’t think we’d be away from home so long and didn’t take any juice with me. I had 2 cups of herbal tea, and was too tired to make and drink juice when we got home. This means that I only consumed about 1.5 liters of juice yesterday, hence the lack of energy this morning. I found the whole outing very tiring.
-
I woke up with cold symptoms this morning, but I think the cold shower shocked me back to health, because they simply disappeared! Craig is still feeling bad, though. He should be juice feasting for immunity!
-
I’ve signed up for the Global Juice Feast, which starts 1 March. Since then I’ve been contacted by a juice feaster from Mozambique. It’s nice to know that someone else in my neck of the woods (about 2000 miles away) will also be juice feasting.
-
We will have houseguests on Wednesday night, so I’ll have to cook something. It’s quite hard when you’re not all that attracted to food anymore!
-
I keep reading about spaghetti squash. We don’t have that over here. Maybe someone can
smugglesend me some seeds in the post… -
The reason this post is so late is because I couldn’t resist watching the recorded broadcast of the Oscars! Is it only me or were the songs uniformly lame this year? And I’m all for the “natural look”, but ladies, this is the Oscars! Put some make-up on Tilda (who looked as if she was wearing a batsuit and hadn’t washed her hair) and Cameron (who looked rather washed out in pale pink).
-
Another social occasion has popped up - my in-laws have invited us for dinner next week for Craig’s birthday. Four events in 11 days! That’s normally what we do in a season!

Thanks for the comments on my blog! I really appreciate them and I just wanted to let you know!!
I haven’t been out looking at seeds for my garden yet but I’ll keep an eye out for spaghetti squash if you’d like to try it. Personally I am not a fan but it might have been the way it was cooked that I didn’t enjoy.
I agree about the Oscars too though… Tilda didn’t look good at all!
But did you see the part where the host said “if you’re wondering what we do here on commercial break I’ll tell you….we sit around and make comments on how you all look at home and what you are wearing” haha I thought that was cute!

Wow more than 11kg lost. That is fantastic. I can’t wait to start Feasting again to get similar results.
Thanks for pointing out the incorrect link! Whoops
I will take your advice and remove the word failure from my mind.

Wow you are doing so well with this… my juicer has been sat in the kitchen for two weeks gathering dust, although I am planning to go fruit shopping tomorrow and get using it again!

I just couldn’t get interested in the Oscars this year. I think I had only seen one of the movies! I saw pictures of Helen Mirren and she was beautiful…so classy!

Hi Hanlie,
I think it is great that you have so many events coming up. It is such a great test for you and will bring up anything that needs to get out! Yippee!
It sounds like you have some good detox going on on the physical level. Isn’t that great? It is so weird when we start being happy when we feel bad or get zits. Who would have thought.
I have to run. My 5 year old is having a temper tantrum and I can’t even think. Have a great day and keep up the fantastic work! I mean seriously, 24.6 lbs? That is awesome!
xoxo

Good luck with all of these social events in your week..sometimes that trips me up (what doesn’t tho—)so pre plan
I only watched a bit of the Oscars–do love that Jon Stewart and THAT SONG FROM “ONCE”–otherwise–couldn’t focus. Feel good to you and hubby!:)

Spaghetti squash is awesome! Nathan doesn’t eat carbs so I will use this just like pasta. The sauce has to be very light or you get glue!

Awww… I hope you have more energy on Tuesday!
Your remark about Tilda made me laugh. lol She really did look ghostly… and ghastly! lol

Hi Hanlie, I hope you’re feeling better. How difficult is it to go out when you’re juice feasting? It’s difficult for me to go to someones house for dinner, but I can just push aside the white stuff. I suppose you have to bring a bottle of juice? Keep up the great work! And, don’t push too hard if you’re really tired…it probably means your body needs some rest;)

I’ve never even heard of spaghetti squash, but I googled it (of course) and will keep my eyes open for it, doubt I’ll find it though, finding anything squash like in Sweden is a difficult job.

Hello my dear,
before I just got them for my toes! NOW I can look forward to painting my fingers!
Monica
Looks like you are still going strong! I love visiting your blog -it just screams HEALTH!
So, yes, I do need to get more involved in the tapping.
I need to truly find some time to relax as well. With high levels of stress and lack of sleep the panic attacks are much stronger and more frequent.
Thankfully hubby is so supportive and that allows me to talk about it rather than holding it in so I am able to move on faster after they happen. It helps to explain to him what I was feeling. He helps me to realize that even though it was scary and I felt like I was going to die, I didn’t die, still here and to remember that when the next one happens.
I really have to down talk myself during them. It’s hard to do though sometimes when you are so terrified.
I am nervous because next month we are taking Matthew for his ultrasound of the soft spot since the doctor said his head was so big (remember that lovely day?) ugh!
Well, the ultrasound place is UNDERGROUND - you go into the garage and then walk the tunnels and I have to do everything in my power not to run out like a crazy person.
Being that it’s for my son I will do it!
I do have one ativan (like valium) and I may take that just in case I freak.
Hubby thankfully is going with me that day so it will be helpful too!
So, have you been tapping?
You know I had told you about my nails and my ripping and tearing at them and biting them for YEARS and tapping really helped! My nails are getting so healthy and long!!!
I like to look at nail polishes now
Makes me feel girly! I won’t get acrylics put on - I know how bad the chemicals are and I did that for years and won’t put my hands through that abuse again if I can help it!
Talk to you later!
Have an awesome day!!!!

I love spaghetti squash. We’ll have to see about sending you some seeds
Yes, let’s talk about something other than weight. Tilda looked GHASTLY! You’d think her stylist would have done something. How about some colour! I love looking at the best and worst dressed lists. Even the famous and glamourous make mistakes (they get televised though–we don’t so who’s lucky? We are!)
Have a fabulous week and keep on juicing.
