Juicy News - Day 3

Juice and Supplements:

  • 250 ml warm water, lemon and cayenne pepper
  • 250 ml Barleylife
  • 500 ml grapefruit, orange, cinnamon
  • 500 ml smoothie with goji berry, strawberry, pomegranate, banana
  • 500 ml smoothie with chai, mango, prickly pear, pineapple
  • 2 liters spinach, tomato, cucumber, garlic, celery, basil, red bell pepper, cayenne pepper
  • 4 x Aimega
  • 2 x MSM
  • 250 ml Herbal Fiber Blend (AIM product)

Weight:  Starting weight 157 kg.  I weighed in at 154.6 kg this morning, making it a loss of 2.4 kg.

Exercise:

  • I shot my rifle…

Energy Levels:  High.  Even the shopping didn’t tire me, which it usually does.

Emotions:  I felt positive and balanced all day.

Positive changes:

  • My belly is softer, less rigid.

 Detoxification symptoms:

  • Sore throat upon waking, but disappeared after a while.
  • Coated tongue
  • Rumbling tummy.  Seriously, it sounds as if someone’s moving furniture in there!
  • Still peeing a lot.
  • Heightened sense of smell.
  • Some pimples are starting to appear.

Food cravings:  We went to Fruit & Veg City’s Food Lovers’ Market and I was almost tempted by some of the goodies (lasagna, sushi, roast pork, potato salad), but it was so fleeting that I didn’t even give it a second thought.  At the exit someone was barbequing sausage for boerewors rolls.  Hubby had crayfish for supper.  I took it all in my stride.

Self-care:

  • Skin brushing.
  • Alternate hot and cold showers.

Thoughts on the day:

  • I wish we had a composter.  I’m generating a huge amount of food pulp per day and it seems like a shame to just throw it away.
  • We went out shopping today and stopped at Kauai where I had a large goji berry smoothie (hubby had a vegan sandwich and a cup of coffee).  My smoothie was delicious and I remarked that this was the cheapest meal we’ve ever had out!  He wasn’t complaining.  Later, after buying a whole lot of produce for way less than what it would have cost me in the supermarket, we had another smoothie at The Food Lovers’ Market.  I opted for chai, mango, prickly pear and pineapple.  It was delicious. I’m going to buy myself some chai tomorrow!
  • I think I’m settling into the Feast nicely.  I don’t feel deprived.  In fact I’m starting to notice how much my life revolved around food prior to this.  Every time I got into my car, I would start thinking about what food I’d buy for myself – pies, burgers, sandwiches, sushi, lasagna, pasta salad, sodas, coffee, whatever!  I spent a whole lot of money on “extra” food.  This is one habit I’ll be glad to break.  And I’m sure I’ll break it quite quickly.  Remember the elevator at the gym?  The first few days I had to stop myself from using it!  Now I don’t even give it a thought, I just automatically take the stairs.

You certainly have a lot of willpower and I’m sure your body is thanking you for this.

How long will you follow the juice diet? What is your transitional plan?

Chai as in Indian tea spice? I get mine freshly ground from my future mother-in-law, but have never thought to use it with juice. Interesting.

Sounds like you are doing so well on this juice feast! The smoothie sounds very yum. I have a favorite juice bar in town that I treat myself to periodically….tomorrow might be the day. I get one called a blood energizer that has beet root in it. Surprisingly tasty!

Thanks for being such a great blog friend.

Oh, and GO WALLABIES! teehee I am a new fan to Rugby here in Australia - I just love it and can’t wait for the season to start again.

Well done. Don’t just hate getting that boerwors smell - and it lingers with even after you pass it.

The program Adobe InDesign isn’t free, its about $700 US dollars. I was lucky enough to win a free package that included InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and several other Adobe programs.
