Juicy News - Day 2

812009.jpg

Juice and Supplements:

  • 250 ml warm water, lemon and cayenne pepper
  • 500 ml Barleylife
  • 1 liter Green Goddess Elixir
  • 750 ml carrot, papaya, pear and rosemary
  • 250 ml organic carrot and beetroot
  • 4 x Aimega (flax seed oil capsules)
  • 500 ml Herbal Fiber Blend (AIM product)

Weight:  Starting weight 157 kg.  I weighed in at 155.9 kg this morning, making it a loss of 1.1 kg.

Exercise:

  • A wonderful hour-long Aqua Aerobics class.  I really enjoyed it.
  • A 3 minute Leslie Sansone walking video, posted by Go Workout Mom.  I’ll definitely do these more often!

Energy Levels:  I got up when my husband left for work and have been going strong.  I did not feel the need to nap, but I will probably have an early night.

Emotions:  I felt positive and balanced all day.

Positive changes:

  • My belly is softer, less rigid.

Detoxification symptoms:

  • I woke up feeling as if I was hung over, but after the 3 minute walk, I was fine.
  • Coated tongue
  • I’ve had some diarrhea.  Nothing serious though.

Food cravings:  They came and went so quickly that they didn’t really even register.

Self-care:

  • I spent a few minutes in the sauna after my aqua class.  I felt really cleansed when afterwards.
  • Hubby and I spent some more time in the Jacuzzi early evening.
  • I body brushed before showering.
  • I had alternate hot and cold showers.

  Thoughts on the day:

  • Today was easier than yesterday.  I felt calmer and more relaxed.  I am convinced that I can go the distance and that it will be a life-changing experience for me.
  • I only managed about 3 liters of juice today, as opposed the recommended 4 liters.
  • I’m pleased to have thought of passing the leafy green stuff through the juicer twice.  It made an appreciable difference in the yield.
  • Soft fruits, like papaya, don’t juice so well.

Thank you for sharing your experiences with the juice feast - it’s interesting to learn more about it. I have started reading some of Mary-Ann Shearer’s information!

Way to go Hanlie! I am so pleased for you and it is great that the transition has been so smooth for you! Keep up the good work!

I wish I had a jacuzzi! How lovely for you to enjoy the nights with your hubby that way.

I know you can go the distance, one day at a time.

You are awesome!! You are doing so well!! I had to do a 2 week liquid diet before surgery and thought I would DIE! You have a GREAT mental mind set about this and I am so proud of how well you are doing!!

    Keep up the inspiring work!!!

Oh before I forget.. can you freeze the softer fruits for a little bit before jucing them? Might make it go through better. Not sure if you are allowed to do that or not but just an idea =0)

It’s been a pretty good weekend so far!
I am feeling more relaxed now that we did some grocery shopping.
I almost feel like I am in a panic when the staples start to dwindle. I have certain things that I like to have that keep me feeling full like eggs, lean meats, whole grain pasta etc and fruits/veggies (you know - the good stuff that I am SUPPOSE to eat anyway ha ha) not the highly processed stuff that I keep eating also. I am hoping that with time my taste buds will just automatically direct me towards the healthy stuff and the processed poo will not be appetizing at all!
So the fridge and pantry are looking much better!
I am still counting the days until the season changes and there is an abundance of fresh fruits and veggies.
There are several farmers markets that we have around here and they are nice to go and get stuff from.
They always have the best bunches of Gerbera daisies and other flowers too that you just can’t resist!
Do you like to garden? I love doing it but it’s much harder since I packed on so many pounds on my 5 foot frame!
I was sitting on the floor this evening picking up crayons and other little things off the carpet that Mikey had spread out (needed to vacuum) and it was uncomfortable because I could feel my stomach hanging so low and it was hard to move (if that makes any sense). Almost like the feeling of having my stomach resting on the floor as my legs were opened like a pair of scissors (ha ha the only way to give you the right visual).
    I don’t like this feeling!
I know that I could move so much more if I didn’t have these extra pounds dragging me down.
My kids are a huge motivator in me not wanting to give up no matter how slow I lose. It’s really hard when you have a thyroid problem BUT it’s not impossible. I just have to work harder.
I don’t want to be the fat Mommy forever! I want to be a healthy Mom that is able to be around for my kids for a LONG time!
I am doing some stuff right! HOWEVER, there is a HUGE amount of improvement that I could do that would make my weight loss go faster - MORE EXERCISE for one. I have not done anything outside of walking while grocery shopping, cleaning house and running and dancing with Mikey. I know that to get the results I want I need to step it up. I am still having trouble with emotional eating too.
I am eating when I am not hungry and even though I know that eating above nutritional purpose is out of control eating, I keep doing it.
I really need to dig deep and work on myself internally to get healthy to get the outside to look like I FEEL inside (does that make sense?) They always say that the outside is a reflection of issues that are going on with someone on the inside.
    I believe that.
Today when we were driving I was thinking about a lot of traumatic things that have happened over the years and was trying to pin point WHICH event was the one that caused my eating to get out of control.
Books and doctors always say that the root to someones weight problem is an event that they are keeping from dealing with - like food becomes the temporary bandaid - I constantly read that.
They always say to pin point what it is that you are trying to mask/avoid etc. and deal with that and it will help to lift some weight as you deal with the issue.
I just don’t know which event caused the most damage!
I am thinking about going to seek some therapy. I did some counseling in the past with a DV specialist and at that time I lost close to 40 pounds in about 6 months. (I was also doing a liquid diet with a program called HMR). Sometimes I wonder if it was the liquid diet that I was doing that helped me lose so much weight, or if it was the specialist and the counseling that helped or a combination of both.
I still have not looked into that relaxation thing that you are doing. I really need to.
Alright, I just talked your head off ha ha.
Well, alright - your eyes off! :D
