Juicy News* - Day 1

Juice and Supplements:
- 250 ml warm water, lemon and cayenne pepper
- 250 ml Barleylife (organic juice made from young barley leaves – AIM product)
- 250 ml organic carrot and beetroot juice
- 1 liter Green Goddess Elixir
- 1 liter apple, pear, grapefruit, lychee, carrot, mango, cinnamon
- 1 liter tomato, green pepper, lettuce, cilantro, cucumber, celery, garlic, radish
- 1 liter water
- 4 x Aimega (flax seed oil capsules)
- 500 ml Herbal Fiber Blend (AIM product)
Weight: Starting weight 157 kg.
Exercise:
- 1 hour intensive Pilates (the instructor was that girl again – Workout Nazi!). I told her after the class that I’ve been achy and bone weary since Thursday, and she said that I have been pushing myself too hard and that I should take it easier. So I didn’t do any cardio yesterday, and quite frankly I’m relieved, because I just didn’t have it in me. There is some fear attached to not doing it. I don’t want to start skipping workouts, because I feel that I may lose my motivation. But I realize that overextending myself would result in injury and having to take time out to recover. And besides, I didn’t do nothing! I still worked out for an hour and she made us do lunges for warm-up! I was ready to lunge at her!
Energy Levels: I was quite tired in the first part of the day, but I don’t attribute that to my juice feasting as yet. I went to bed too late the night before and woke up when my husband got up for work. Planned to have a nap in the afternoon, but one of our new tenants had crisis that I had to sort out. As the day progressed my energy levels increased greatly.
Emotions: Irritated by the world outside my gate! But that’s normal. I found the tenant’s demands stressful and taxing and eventually told him to sort it out himself and bill us. We will deduct the cost from the old tenant’s deposit. I actually felt like unplugging the phone and switching off the cell, but I know my husband will have the Armed Response here in no time if he can’t get hold of me! So, in conclusion, maybe I was not my sunny self yesterday.
Detoxification symptoms:
- A slight headache towards the late afternoon, but it didn’t last long.
- Increased visits to the bathroom. Seriously, I had to get up every two hours during the night to empty my bladder!
Food cravings: Nothing during the day, but by evening I wanted salad, so I made the tomato juice. A salad in a glass!
Self-care:
- I watched the inspirational video in the morning, but didn’t do the kriya.
- Our electricity went out just before 9 pm**, so hubby and I jumped into the Jacuzzi. It was wonderfully relaxing, even without the jets, and we could see so many stars due to the power being out.
Thoughts on the day:
- It’s amazing how natural it is for the hand to go to the mouth when handling food. Quite a few times today I caught myself almost putting a stray piece of fruit or veg into my mouth while preparing my juices or hubby’s supper (salad).
- I was never hungry and only slightly tempted by freshly baked garlic bread when out shopping.
- I need to make sure that I always have juice in the fridge. I can’t juice when there’s no power!
- All in all it was a good day.
This post will normally go up in the evenings, electricity permitting.
I realize that many of you may have questions, so please ask them in the comments and I will answer them in posts. It would serve to demystify this process. I have received some questions already, and will get to them later today.
* I know! Corny, isn’t it?
** The power came back on at about 3 am. The thing that bothers me the most about the situation is that the clowns responsible for this mess are in charge of a fucking nuclear reactor. One which is only a few miles north of me as the neutron flies. Then again - if we are ever faced with a ‘worst case scenario’, it will solve at least two problems: there won’t be any more congestion on Koeberg Road and we won’t need lights, because everyone will glow in the dark.

You seem to be doing great dear Hanlie!
I think it’s good to check on energy levels, emotions, cravings etc individually. Something I could do too.. ?! This way maybe you have more control if you look at all these things individually. Great idea.
