Achy Breaky Habit!
Posted on Jan 28, 2008 under Health, Diet and Lifestyle |I did another hour-long aqua aerobics class today, with a different instructor and boy, am I feeling it! She really made us work! But I loved it. Even though I’m tired (and quite sleepy!), I’m happy and satisfied.
While in the pool, I happened to glance up at where I normally sweat and groan on the treadmills. I saw a lady, who was probably about my size, jogging. Slowly and not for long, but jogging. And I knew that my day will come… It may not be graceful or pretty, but it’s not a spectator sport! It’s yet another person breaking free from the shackles of her weight.
I only noticed today that there is a whole bevy of new Healthy You Challengers. I’ve loaded everyone on my Google Reader and will see you around!

She was probably looking down at you thinking,
“Look at that girl she can complete a whole hour of Aqua Aerobics. One day I will do that!” I think you inspire people more than you realise.

WELL DONE on the workout.
I like swimming, never fancied aqua aerobics though, just swimming. I was going regularly about 2 year ago but what with lifes problems at the time I stopped going.

RE-Comment:
I too blame the parents, well, most of the time I do, because sometimes it doesn’t matter how decent and strict we are it just doesn’t make our children nice decent folk because they can get in with the wrong crowd. My eldest son (he is 22 years old in May) got in with the wrong crowd.
For a long time wherever myself and my husband went we got comliments about Michael but then those compliments started turning into complaints….so upsetting for us.
Myself and my husband, we both had a very strict upbringing, although I think my husband’s parents were more strict than mine, but we as parents tried really hard and still do with our children to brng them up to be law abiding, nice, polite, decent folk and that is something we will never stop doing even with our 2 grandchildren.
Although our eldest son is still a pain in the butt I have to say he has settled himself down considerably.
The parents at James’s school just stood there, watched what happened this morning and then turned back around to chat to each other, they didn’t discipline their children at all….AMAZING! I thought it best to let the school know so hopefully letters will be sent out for the parents to watch their children in the playground in the mornings.
Enjoy your day xx

What a fantastic story! I love that you ran - I tried to run on the treadmill and felt silly - so you are my hero! I’m so glad that you’re sticking it out in Pilates class, because I feel the same way about my pilates class. The teacher is very accommodating to what I can and can’t do, and I want to be there every week, improving so that I can be just as strong as the others. You are doing so well - my heart warmed for you when I read that you had tears. You are a strong woman - don’t forget it!
