Like a flower

Imagine if a flower didn’t like itself, how it would hold back it’s fragrance and try to keep it from ‘leaking out’. Maybe even looking around and trying to act like another flower it thought was better.
We would think it was totally ridiculous that the flower was doing this. It’s fragrance was incredible - so special - and we so wanted to smell that fragrance!
Well many of us behave like the flower who didn’t like itself.
In one of Buddha’s teachings he picked a flower and held it up and gazed at it for 20 minutes without saying a word.
He was asking his disciples to look into the essence of that flower being itself. Small and fragile yet filled with life, beauty, and power it shines unhindered like the sun, bends with the winds and simply radiates it’s beauty and fragrance into the world. Purely itself and celebrating the force of life. Not one limiting thought, not one nanosecond of doubt - a great big flowing “yes” to everything.
Go on - just be yourself. Your best self.
