Thank you to everyone who’s come to visit me in my new home. I love it here!
Thanks Susie for the welcome mat!
I am pleased to see so many new members of the Healthy You Challenge dropping by. The Challenge is really living up to expectations and I’m constantly inspired by the insights, experiences and many victories of my blogging buddies. This year is shaping up to be a watershed for many of us.
I have just had a really nice smoothie for breakfast, made with water, a few bananas, a mango, three lychees and a breakfast papaya. Heavenly! That’s my fruit meal for the day. I’m sitting on my balance ball as we speak, and will head for the treadmill the minute I finish this post. My water bottle is right beside me. So, I’m looking good goal wise for today.
I’d better get this workout done early, because hubby is convinced that my phone will be ringing off the hook this afternoon. I have placed an advertisement in two local newspapers for soap making classes. The newspapers get distributed for free every Thursday. I have no idea what kind of response I’m likely to get, but best I keep my diary close by.
We don’t have enough electricity in South Africa, for various reasons that I’m not going to discuss here. This means that from time to time we are subjected to so-called loadshedding. Aka, blackouts. We’ve had two so far this week in our neighbourhood, but by all accounts we are lucky, because some areas are very badly affected and small businesses are suffering enormously. To keep myself from being too frustrated about it, I have dusted off my guitar and am making music while the power is off. Craig says I’m traumatizing the cats, but actually I’ve decided to take 5 songs and work really hard at them. I’m teaching myself as I go along…
I’ve mentioned the socks I knitted last year. This is the picture from the pattern. I’ve done pairs in lots of different colours and yesterday I bought another ball of this stripey wool, in shades of green. So now I’ve got something to keep my hands occupied while watching television. I always buy my nieces clothes for their birthdays and Christmas, but this year I want to knit them things. The first birthday (1 yr) is in April, followed by the second (6yrs) in May, so I have plenty of time to knit them something special.
Talk about kids, I always think that one should take as many picture possible of one’s kids. But unfortunately not all of us are good with cameras. Someone whose pictures take my breath away is Jenty. I want lessons!!!
And if you need a laugh today, this post by Antique Mommy (always a hit with me) had me rolling off my exercise ball!

I just watched a friend, and then copied how she took photos, and viola! I want to take a course now to learn properly.
You are VERY lucky you’ve only had 2 blackouts this weeks, we’ve been having at least 2 a day!

Hi Hanlie!
Welcome to Wordpress - nice to see you here, from someone who’s *also* thinking of moving my health blog here, to join my personal blog.
Good luck for the week ahead!

I knit when I watch TV too! My grandmother suggested it when I complained about feeling snacky during commerical breaks and I’ve been amazed at how well it works. Usually I just do scarves or hats though. Those socks are adorable!
